RIP saguPAW.com.
The SAGU P.A.W. (personal assistant in writing) was a mid-2010s effort by the Department of Bible & Theology at Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) to provide online support for our students to guide them with their research and writing. Part style guide, part instructional blog, the saguPAW was our own website, created and maintained by Drs. Bruce Rosdahl and Terance Espinoza. Since this was a faculty-owned webpage it was personally funded by the department chair at the time, Dr. Bruce Rosdahl. When he moved on to another position he graciously continued to fund the page until we agreed to let it expire in 2025.
Why did we let the page expire in 2025? In 2023-2024 the librarians at Nelson University graciously made space for us to recreate our saguPAW style guide within the library’s online ecosystem at nelson.libguides.com/styleguide. In 2024-2025 the university made a cosmetic change to our name, from SAGU to Nelson University. The Bible & Theology department revised and completed the second edition of the style guide that same year, also updating it at nelson.libguides.com/styleguide.
With all the change going on we decided to let the saguPAW domain expire. The saguPAW style guide now has a new digital home at the Nelson Library. A copy of the style guide’s contents will continue to be hosted at BibTheo.com/StyleGuide, where we will continue to workshop additional and experimental resources for academic research and technical writing. Our beloved saguPAW.com served its purpose well and got us where we are today. Thank you to all of the faculty, staff, students, and public who used the site and who continue to be interested in the study of the Bible and theology. Soli deo gloria!
